We went to the Old Lahaina Luau. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! The dancing, the crafts, and the food were all incredible. Highly recommend. But, there are no fire dancers. Nate kept asking for the fire dancers. So cute. It was threatening rain, but we managed to sneak in a picture with the sunset.

Hawaii 2009
We took a family vacation to Hawaii in Mid-April. We went to Maui and had a great time! Ama and Papa, and Uncle Mikey-Mikey came along as well. It was fantastic to get away and to take a break from everyday life. Nothing like the Hawaiian spirit to calm your nerves and to helpo you slow down a bit. We were a little nervous as this was the first time the kids had been on a plane. (Well, not for Nate, but he doesn't remember!) They did great! Adam was able to get an exit row, (which saves the knees,)and Ama and Papa were on our flight to help me with the kiddos. We are greatly encouraged at how well the whole thing went, and are excited for the next vacation. Why does vacation go so much faster with kids? The week went by in a flash, but we had so much fun. Check it out:

Luke is such a flirt! He loved the beautiful locals. I don't know why, but there is something about dark haired women that my boys are drawn to. Funny because all of the women in their life are blond. It will be interesting to see who they end up marrying. The Old Lahaina Luau has all these culturals stations set up that you can watch and learn about the culture before dinner. Luke loved the instruments, but Nate was a little shy. So cute.
We climbed trees....
We swam, and swam, and swam, and...notice a theme? The pool was where we spent the majority of our time and the boys were really getting good. The difference in their skills from the first day to the last was amazing! Little Sheron fish!
One morning it was raining, and so the boys checked out the Maui aquarium. Check out the size of those turtles! Luke is 37 inches tall for reference...
Adam, Papa and Uncle Mike got to golf twice. Unfortunately the wind got the best of their shots on one round, but hey, they were in Hawaii and there is always beer. No complaits. Hang loose, shaka!
The boys loved playing in the sand. The water in front of our resort was a little rough, but luckily they didn't want to go in too badly.
It was so windy! Check out Adam who couldn't move he had to literally hold down the fort to keep everything from flying off!
This was the view from Ama and Papa's condo. And the location where we ate the majority of our meals. Can't get a much better than that!

Glad to see you had a great time. We're going in July and its heartening to know that the kids did well.
